Spruce Kings take 3 of 4 points on the road after derailing Express

The Prince George Spruce Kings continued to take care of business away from the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena by doubling up the Coquitlam Express 6-3 on Friday.

Coquitlam was sluggish out of the gate by giving up three unanswered goals to the Spruce Kings off the sticks of Jarod Hovde, Travis Schneider, and Parker Colley.

Alex Ambrosio potted a late one for the Express making it a 3-1 edge for Prince George after 20 minutes.

Express goalie Lawson Fenton was pulled in favor of Reid Cooper after giving up 3 goals on 12 shots.

The second period saw more offence from the Spruce Kings with Schneider and Hovde adding their second of the contest while Christian Bosa replied for Coquitlam for a 5-2 lead after 40 minutes.

Both teams traded markers in the third including Sam De Melo scoring his first goal as a Spruce King at 18:39.

Prince George outshot Coquitlam 48-35.
