After receiving an opening-round bye, Prince George’s Jag Seehra will step into the ring Thursday night (April 27th) for his first bout at the Canadian Amateur Boxing Championships in Quebec City.
The 27-year-old, who moved to Vancouver Island last year, faces Thomas Tordoff of Alberta, with the winner advancing to the 60-kilogram class (142 lbs) semi-finals.
Seehra is one of 22 BC boxers at the Nationals coached by former Prince George resident Bob Pegues, who now makes his home in Nanaimo.
He has also earned three medals at Canadian Championships; bronze in 2009, silver in 2010, and bronze in 2012.
Junior, youth and elite boxers will step into the ring this week to get the Canadian champions titles! Good luck to all! @Boxing_canada
