Cougars find a replacement for Popugaev

The Prince George Cougars have added a second import, claiming forward Pavel Azhgirei off waivers from the Everett Silvertips.

The transaction was first reported by Gregg Drinnan in his Taking Note column.

The 17-year-old from Belarus, who is in his first WHL season, had one assist in four regular season games with the Silvertips.

Azhgirei replaces Nikita Popugaev who left the Cougars last week to join CSKA Moscow of the KHL.
