BC Hydro continuing to investigate PG Outage

About 5,800 residents in Prince George were left in the dark on Thursday according to BC Hydro.

“The outage stretched just south of the Nechako River down to Vance Road and then roughly to about west of Highway 97, so that chunk of Prince George was affected for about an hour and fifteen minutes,” says Bob Gammer, Northern Community Relations.

As for the cause of the outage, crews have zeroed in on a possibility.

“It certainly was a fault inside the Foothills substation, it looks to be some piece of equipment as were investigating exactly what happened to what caused the outage.”

The blackout occurred at about 2:20 PM.
