The UNBC Timberwolves basketball squads headed as far east as they could this past weekend, each playing back-to-back road games at Brandon University.
For the women, they’re leaving Manitoba with a clean sweep of the Bobcats, winning close battle of 66-65 on Friday, and 76-71 Saturday night.
Import players Maria Mongomo (Spain, Third-year) and Vasiliki Louka (Greece, Fourth-year) recorded double-doubles in both games.
Mongomo led UNBC in scoring with a combined 41 points.
The lady Timberwolves catapult their record to an even 8-8, sitting alone in ninth place in Canada West.
