During that month 46 tickets were handed out for cell phone use, 56 for not wearing a seatbelt, and 34 for intersection related violations. “This is definitely higher than normal. We were also targeting cellphone use and seatbelt use, so, we were expecting higher numbers, but not this high.” – Sgt. Matt LaBelle Each distracted driving violation is $543 for first time offenders, the total cost rises to $888 for a second offence.
