Defenceman Bryan Allbee of Prince George ended his junior hockey career with a national title.
The 20-year-old Allbee picked up one assist for the host Chilliwack Chiefs in a 4-2 triumph over the Wellington Dukes in the final of the Royal Bank Cup.
Prior to the RBC, the Chiefs had been idle two months, after they lost 3-1 in game seven of the first round of the BCHL playoffs to the Prince George Spruce Kings.
Chilliwack had three wins and an overtime loss in four round robin games.
The Chiefs beat the Ottawa Jr. Senators 3-2 in one semi-final while Wellington edged the BCHL and Doyle Cup champion Wenatchee Wild 2-1 in the other semi.
Allbee finished the RBC with three assists in six tournament games.
During the regular season, the former Caribooo Cougar and Spruce King, had 31 points (eight goals) and 67 penalty minutes in 53 games.
Chilliwack is the 14th BCHL team to win the national championship, but the first to do it as host.
The Chiefs are the second consecutive host team and third in the last four years to win Canada’s National Junior A Championship.
