Update: Attemped copper theft cuts internet for some northern B.C. customers

CityWest is reporting a full service outage for all internet, telephone, and TV customers.

Telus reports large outage in Northwestern B.C.

The outage starts west of Fraser Lake and extends all the way to Prince Rupert, and onto Haida Gwaii. 

Update: Telus service restored following fibre line cut

A Telus spokesperson confirmed to My Prince George Now the damage was caused by vandals attempting to steal copper cables, who cut through fibre lines.

Outages are being reported in Prince George, as strong winds move through the area.

Update: 19,000 BC Hydro customers in PG area were affected by outage Monday afternoon

BC Hydro says roughly 19,000 customers will be without power in the Prince George area this afternoon.  According to BC Hydro, this is due to a vehicle incident last night (Saturday) on Highway 16 West near Art Knapp Plantland that resulted in extensive damage to BC Hydro infrastructure.
