Feds and province starting new program for Aboriginal skills training

The federal and provincial governments have kicked in some cash to train Aboriginal workers.
They are investing $3.5 million over three years into a new program called Navigators, as part of the New Relationship Trust for the Aboriginal Labour Market Community Initiative.
B-C Aboriginal Affairs Minister John Rustad says this will link together different groups.
“Navigators, will really be a great opportunity, to be able to link industry with government with First Nations with our training facilities.”
Rustad says this will help First Nations workers be able to take advantage of upcoming liquefied natural gas opportunities.
The governments are also putting in $85,500 to support skills training through the Prince George Nechako Aboriginal Employment and Training Association.
