Former Prince George Spruce Kings captain and Cariboo Cougar Jake LeBrun scored the opening goal on the power play in the first period to help the West Kelowna Warriors to a 4-1 semi-final victory Saturday over the Brooks Bandits at the Royal Bank Cup.
The Warriors advance to the Sunday 3 p.m. (PDT) championship game against the host LLoydminster Bobcats, who knocked off the Trenton Golden Hawks 6-2 in the other semi.
P.G. minor hockey product and former Cariboo Cougar Liam Blackburn and ex Spruce King Bryan Basilico did not get a point for the Warriors against the Bandits. Blackburn though has two goals and four assists in five tournament games.
