Gas Prices in Prince George drop six cents following weekend hike

The yo-yo like prices at the pumps in Prince George are now trending downwards.

After a dime increase last week, prices are now 95.9 cents a litre at Costco.

However, Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com believes another issue was at play.

“In Prince George, we saw a retention of prices. In other words, all the wholesale prices had dropped but did not drop as quickly as expected, this is sort of a catching up by retailers who are doing quite well selling gasoline in the dollar range.”

McTeague does not expect the cheaper prices to last as another increase could be on the horizon by next week.

The days of cheap oil could be behind us as OPEC is close to reaching a new deal.

Prices could soar well above the dollar mark heading into the new year.

Last Friday, gas prices jumped to 105.9 at most stations.
