Kelowna Rockets 7 Prince George Cougars 0 (Sunday)
The Rockets outshot the Cats 42-21 as Kelowna scored three goals in the first period and four more in the second.
Rookie goalie Tyler Brennan makes his 2019 pre-season debut for Prince George.
The Cougars are 0-3 in exhibition games.
They lost twice in Langley: 7-1 to the Kamloops Blazers on Friday and 5-3 to the Vancouver Giants on Saturday.

The Cougars final two pre-season games will be played in Dawson Creek against the Edmonton Oil Kings on Thursday and Saturday.

The defending BCHL champion Prince George Spruce Kings picked up one point as they began their season with a pair of home losses against the Surrey Eagles.
The Eagles won 4-2 Friday and 4-3 in overtime Saturday.
The (0-1-1) Spruce Kings host the (0-1) Victoria Grizzlies Friday and (2-0) Penticton Vees Saturday.

Northern Capitals:
The Northern Capitals female midget hockey team posted a pair of weekend exhibition wins in the Cariboo.
The Capitals beat the Fraser Valley Rush 3-2 on Saturday in Williams Lake and 3-1 on Sunday in 100 Mile House.
NHL:
The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed restricted free agent defenceman Zach Werenski to a three-year contract extension.
The deal is worth a reported total of $15 million.

US Open champion Bianca Andreescu has reached a career-high No. 5 in the WTA rankings.
Andreescu earned US$3.85 million following her 6-3, 7-5 victory over Serena Williams in the US Open women’s final.
She improved to 8-0 against top 10 opponents — all this year.
Andreescu is the first Canadian to capture a Grand Slam singles title.

The Patriots added disgruntled wide receiver Antonio Brown following his release on Saturday by the Oakland Raiders.
He is expected to make his Patriots debut Sunday in Miami.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have lost starting quarterback Nick Foles for an indefinite period.
Foles suffered a broken left clavicle early in the 40-26 loss to Kansas City.
He will have surgery today.
It is the same clavicle Foles fractured while playing with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014.
CFL:
The (9-3) Winnipeg Blue Bombers have opened up a four-point lead on both the (7-4) Saskatchewan Roughriders and (7-4) Calgary Stampeders in the CFL West.
The (1-10) BC Lions have lost seven straight.
The Lions host the (3-8) Ottawa RedBlacks Friday night at 7:00 to begin week 14 of the CFL season.
The RedBlacks have lost four in a row.

The Canadian men’s basketball team ended the FIBA World Cup with an 82-76 loss today (Monday) to Germany.
By ending up 21st out of 32 teams, Canada finished high enough to get a second chance at qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
MLB:

The (55-89) Jays have lost seven straight and 17 of their last 21.
Toronto has just 18 games left, 12 at home and six on the road.
The Jays start a six-game homestand Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox.
