Prince George Firefighter Thad Kennedy was the winner of the Spruce Kings Show Home 1st Period Mega 50/50 draw today (Monday).
The draw took place at the Prince George Spruce Kings Show Home and sold out.
Kennedy said he received the ticket as a present from his wife.
“I had just got off nightshift. When I saw the number I actually thought it was a solicitor, so I didn’t answer,” explained Kennedy.
He answered his voicemail and realized he had won the draw.
“I phoned it back and I was just in shock. My wife took the day off work and came home.”
When asked about what he plans to do with his winnings he was torn.
“The responsible side of it, because it’s not really our first time around the block, says pay off the bills, and I was trying to talk my wife into early retirement.”
“The little devil on my other shoulder says I would really like to buy myself a brand new Harley.”
Kennedy and his family buy a showhome lottery ticket every year to support the team.
