Live video surveillance helps Mounties nab break-and-enter suspect quickly

One person is in custody for breaking and entering into a business.

Just after 8:00 last night (Tuesday) the Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a break-and-enter in progress at a business on the 9200-block of Northern Crescent.

According to police, the owner of the business reported they could see a man inside the building on their video surveillance.”

“Police officers immediately flooded the area and located a man nearby who matched the description of the suspect. He was identified as Shawn Underhill, who is known to police, and was arrested for breaking and entering,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“Our officers’ quick response to this report, in combination with the live video surveillance, ensured we had the suspect apprehended within an hour of the initial complaint.”

The BC Prosecution Service has approved one charge of Break and Enter with Intent in the matter.

Shawn Underhill will remain in custody until his next court appearance.

The investigation is ongoing.
