Spruce Kings stave off elimination with Game 6 road win in Langley

Let’s play seven.

Facing elimination for the first time all season, the Prince George Spruce Kings took a collective breath and played arguably their most complete game of their Coastal East Division series.

Goals from Marcus Lougheed, River Arnason, Nick Bianchi and Mathis Laplante helped pace the Spruce Kings to a 4-1 win on Sunday against the Langley Rivermen.

Lougheed opened the scoring at 6:58 of the first period beating Rivermen goalie Eric Young thanks to a passing play that included linemates Tai Ushio and Ozbej Rep.

Langley evened tied it up at one on the power-play as it took nine seconds for Parker Forlin to bury a puck past Spruce Kings netminder Colin Reay.

Depth proved to be the difference maker in this Game Six matchup from the George Preston Arena.

Former Rivermen blueliner Bianchi and Laplante notched their first goals of the 2026 BCHL playoffs two minutes apart, giving PG a 3-1 advantage after 40 minutes.

Arnason added his second goal of the series at 14:28 of the third period scooping up a rebound after a double deflection from Mason Loewen and Carter Hesselgrave.

Prince George outshot the Rivermen 37-17 and went 0-for-1 on the power-play while Langley was 1-for-3.

Young made 34 saves in defeat for the host Rivermen while Reay turned aside 16 opposition shots.

The lone blemish was the early exit of Ushio who didn’t return for the third period after taking a hit from Rivermen forward Jordan Geike.

Tickets go on sale for Tuesday’s Game 7 from the Kopar Memorial Arena Monday morning either on-line or at the Spruce Kings office.

Puck drop is at 7pm.
