Cougars handed $1,500 fine for game four’s “inadequate security”

The Western Hockey League has slapped a $1,500 fine on the Prince George Cougars following the Cougars 5-2 loss on Wednesday in Game four of their second round series against the Penticton Vees.

According to the league, the fine was issued for “inadequate security” during the match.

There were times in Game 4 where upset fans threw beer and other debris onto the ice.

There was even a fight in the stands at CN Centre towards the end of the game.

Meanwhile, Cougars forward Aiden Foster was given a two-game suspension after receiving a five-minute major and a game misconduct for elbowing.

The Cougars play the Vees tonight in Penticton for game five at 7:05, and return home for game six on Sunday (7:00).

The series is tied at two a piece.
