Two-time U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian signs with UNBC MSOC

An experienced midfielder has been added to the men’s soccer talent pool for the UNBC Timberwolves.

On Thursday, the T-Wolves signed Burnaby product Kosta Adzic.

Adzic arrives in Prince George after completing his Bachelor of Human Kinetics at Trinity Western University, where he excelled both on the pitch and in the classroom.

A two-time U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian (2023-24 and 2024-25), he was also recognized as Trinity Western’s 2025-26 Human Kinetics Student-Athlete of the Year. He plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at UNBC.

A graduate of Burnaby Mountain Secondary School, the 6-foot-1 midfielder has suited up for several respected Lower Mainland clubs throughout his career, including Unity FC, Columbus FC and Khalsa SC.

“Kosta’s arrival at our program has been positive right from the get-go,” said UNBC Timberwolves Men’s Soccer Head Coach Steve Simonson.

“Not only is he a highly effective and versatile player, he’s an incredible personality and a positive influence within the team on a social level. We are so excited to have him here and I know he’ll be a great addition.”

Adzic credits soccer’s endless complexity as one of the reasons he has remained passionate about the sport.

“I love to compete, and in my mind, soccer is the perfect sport for that,” he said. “It is not a one-dimensional game. While the objective is simple, every match is different because so many variables come into play. Every player and every team has different strengths and weaknesses, which makes the game both strategic and unpredictable. I also love that soccer constantly challenges me physically, mentally and technically. No matter how much I improve, there is always another level to reach and another challenge to overcome.”

Adzic developed as a well-rounded athlete growing up. Alongside soccer, he competed in track and field, cross country, volleyball, basketball and ball hockey. He credits his years training in track and field under longtime coach Larry Ryan for helping shape the athlete and competitor he has become today.

Adzic and the Timberwolves will kick off the 2026 Canada West season on September 4 at home against TRU.
