A retired firefighter with a 30-year career is looking for a seat on Prince George City Council.
Dan Pears, who served as Assistant Chief during his time as a firefighter, says he will bring practical leadership, responsible decision-making, and a lifelong commitment to public service to City Hall.
“Prince George has always been home,” he said. “It is where Dori and I raised our family and where I had the privilege of building a career serving others. Retirement has given me the opportunity to give back in a new way. I want to put my experience to work helping build a safer, stronger and better-run city for the next generation.”
His campaign will focus on three priorities:
- A safer, cleaner Prince George: Supporting practical, coordinated action to improve safety in neighbourhoods and downtown for residents, families, businesses and first responders.
- A strong local economy: Working collaboratively with City staff, local businesses and community partners to encourage investment, support job creation and help Prince George businesses succeed and grow.
- Responsible spending and reliable core services: Focusing City resources on the services and infrastructure residents rely on while demanding clear results and real value from every tax dollar.
“Residents deserve a council that listens, respects every tax dollar and stays focused on public safety, reliable services and a strong local economy,” Pears said. “I will be accessible and accountable, ask thoughtful questions and work constructively with residents, council colleagues and City staff to get results while looking for new ways to contribute.”
The municipal elections are set for October 17.
