Cougars sign camp invitee Bitnonti

The Prince George Cougars have signed 2008-born forward Jonathan Bitnonti to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

Bitnonti earned his spot on the roster after attending the team’s training camp as an invitee.

Last season, he captained the U18 Yale Hockey Academy program, tallying 34 points (18G, 16A) in 30 games.

“Jonathan is such a great story,” said Cougars Director of Player Personnel Bob Simmonds. “He came to camp as an invitee with one goal in mind: to make this team. He battled through every cut and earned his place on our roster. He is a tireless worker who never cheats himself, is extremely coachable, and is a tremendous teammate. I couldn’t be happier for him.”

Bitnonti has played in a pair of games for the Cats this season already.
