Spruce Kings shave the Eagles bald with 11-2 victory

Talk about lightning the lamp.

The Prince George Spruce Kings scored at will on Saturday from the RMCA pumping the Surrey Eagles 11-2.

This game was actually close after 20 minutes with the Spruce Kings carrying a 2-1 lead thanks to goals from Brett Mennear and Kyle Johnson.

Jarod Hovde opened the floodgates just 56 seconds into the middle frame taking advantage of an Ethan De Jong feed.

Prince George filled the net with 3 more pucks in a 90 second span from Johnson, Mennear and Hunter Luhmann giving themselves a 6-1 advantage.

Surrey could not stop the bleeding in the third period surrendering five more goals courtesy of Luhmann, Tanner Campbell, Ethan De Jong, Parker Colley, and Chong Lee.

Jeffrey Stewart and Jacob Dupont replied for the Eagles.

Prince George outshot Surrey 33-25.

Tavin Grant made 23 saves in the victory.

Both teams play again on Sunday at 3 from the RMCA.
