Masich Place Stadium is officially opened with dozens of people coming out and using the track.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve had a surface like this to walk on and I’ve been looking forward to it,” says Walker Margaret Plewes.
She adds the location is great because it gives her a chance to meet up with others like Carolyn Walsh for their five-kilometre walk.
“We’ve been walking partners for about three years,” says Plewes. “It is very convenient to meet here and because of different hip issues we have been looking forward to getting back onto the softer surface.”
The total cost of the redevelopment project was $4.8 million and meets FIFA, CFL, and World Rugby regulations.
