The 2019 BC Minor Baseball 15U AA Provincial Championship postponed all eight games yesterday due to the heavy rain.

The Prince George Knights defeated the Vancouver Expos 7-3 in their tournament opener on Thursday.

Play will resume today from Nechako Park.

The Big Guy Lake Kings are in Winnipeg this weekend to play at the Canadian Native Fastball Championships.

They dominated in their first game, winning 15-0.

Their next game will be played today at 8:00 a.m. PST against Standing Buffalo from Saskatchewan.

Ottawa REDBLACKS  30  Montreal Alouettes  27

A pair of spectacular return touchdowns from DeVonte Dedmon helped Ottawa to a 30-27 overtime victory over Montreal on Friday night.

Dedmon set a franchise record with 377 combined return yards, and the REDBLACKS improved their record to 3-4 while snapping a four-game losing streak.

Week 8 of the CFL Schedule concludes today with the season’s first installment of the Battle of Alberta. The Edmonton Eskimos will be visiting the Calgary Stampeders this afternoon.

Both teams have posted 4-2 records and sit tied for second in the West Division.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. PST.

‘Tis the season.

The defending NBA Champion Toronto Raptors will be playing the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day.

It marks just the second time in franchise history that the Raps will be playing on the holiday, however, it becomes the first time ever that it will be happening in the City of Toronto.

The first time the Raptors played on Christmas came in 2001 when they faced the Knicks at Madison Square Gardens in New York.

Toronto Blue Jays  5  Baltimore Orioles  2

Not only have the Blue Jays won five straight for the first time since last Aug. 20-25, they’re also riding their first five-game road winning streak since August 2015.

Bo Bichette doubled in the fifth inning, becoming the first player in Blue Jays history to tally nine hits over his first five big league games.

Since June 16, the Jays lead the MLB with 81 home runs.

Both teams will be back in action today at 4:05 p.m. PST.

Soccer body CONMEBOL has suspended international superstar Lionel Messi from international matches with Argentina for three months because of accusations of corruption he made at the latest Copa América.

The South American body also said Friday that it has fined Messi $50,000 for comments made following Argentina’s 2-1 win against Chile in the third-place playoff of the tournament in July

Messi was red-carded for just the second time in his career in that match.
