For the 12 teams at the 2019 BC Minor Baseball 15U AA Provincial Championship, perhaps their greatest opponent this weekend has been mother nature.

The Prince George Knights were able to get a second game in on Saturday before rain hit the diamonds at Nechako Park.

Prince George leads Pool A with two wins. Their next game will be today against the Ladner Red Sox at 1:00 p.m. (weather permitting).

Calgary Stampeders  24  Edmonton Eskimos  18

Calgary came out on top against the Edmonton on Saturday with a 24-18 home victory in the season’s first instalment of the Battle of Alberta.The Stamps improved their record to 5-2 and now share first place in the West with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Following a bye in Week 8, the BC Lions will be back in action next weekend when they take on the East Division-leading Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The Lions sit in the basement of the West Division with a 1-6 record.

The Toronto Raptors will begin their title defence on opening night of the 2019-20 NBA season. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Raps will be facing highly anticipated rookie Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans.

‘Tis the season.

The defending NBA Champion Toronto Raptors will be playing the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day.

It marks just the second time in franchise history that the Raps will be playing on the holiday, however, it becomes the first time ever that it will be happening in the City of Toronto.

Despite the loss, recent call-up Bo Bichette continues to have the hot bat in the Blue Jays lineup.
