CFL:
Winnipeg Blue Bombers starting quarterback Matt Nichols has been placed on the six-game injured list.
Nichols will not need surgery and will be re-evaluated in 4-to-6 weeks.

The (7-2) Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit the (6-3) Edmonton Eskimos Friday night (6 PM PT) to start week 11 of the CFL season.
A pair of games are scheduled for Saturday: (3-6) Ottawa at (5-3) Saskatchewan (4 PM) followed by (7-2) Hamilton at (1-8) BC.

Aaron Rodgers practised on Monday with the Green Bay Packers but no final decision has been made if he will play in Thursday’s preseason game in Winnipeg.

Simon Fraser Golf:
Cody Bailey won the Simon Fraser Men’s Open by five shots over Blair Scott at Prince George Golf and Curling Club.
The 18-year-old Bailey posted back-to-back rounds of 66 for a 10-under 132 total, while Scott finished at 137 (rounds of 66 and 71).
Bailey played last week in the Canadian junior boys’ championship in Hartland, N.B., where he missed the 36-hole cut by five strokes.
The Simon Fraser Women’s Open, which was held the previous weekend, was won by Natasha Kozlowski.
