A dash of Prince George flavour added to Chicken Soup

Local writer Marty Anderson has found some international success in the latest entry in the popular Chicken Soup for the Soul book series.

The book, subtitled “101 Feel Good Stories” features Anderson’s short story “My Wife Tried to Kill Me” which is centred around his wife, Carla, and the ‘plank’ exercise.

“At the time I didn’t really understand what a ‘plank’ was,” Anderson said, recalling he called it: “the easiest thing in the world.”

“As anyone who has actually done a plank knows: it is not the easiest thing in the world,” he added.

Anderson is no stranger to being published, with articles focused on his love of snowmobiling being featured in specialty publications.

Nearly twenty years ago Anderson even dabbled in self-starting a snowmobiling magazine of his own.

It was a social media post calling for stories that led Anderson to consider submitting to Chicken Soup for the Soul, a series that has collectively sold over 500 million books.

“If you’re cooped up at home, trying to deal with all this COVID stuff, there’s some really funny stuff in 101 Feel Good Stories,” he concluded.

Anderson maintains and regularly updates a blog, which can be found online.
