MERRY CHRISTMAS:

Hockey:

–Canada will play Germany on Boxing Day in its first game at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton. Taylor Gauthier of the PG Cougars is one of three goalies on the Canadian team. Gauthier did not dress in Canada’s 1-0 exhibition win on Wednesday over Russia. Northeastern University freshman Devon Levi earned the shutout against the Russians with 23 saves.

NFL:

–Week 16 of the NFL season kicks off today (1:30 PM PT) with 6-8 Minnesota at 10-4 New Orleans. The Saints can clinch top spot in the the NFC South with a victory.

NBA:

–The (0-1) Toronto Raptors play their next game on Saturday in San Antonio against the Spurs.
