The Prince George Cougars have locked up two more prospects.
Today (Wednesday), the WHL club announced the signings of 2005-born players Ephram McNutt and Zackary Shantz.
“Both Ephram and Zack had very strong showings during our Training Camp,” said Cougars’ Director of Scouting Bob Simmonds.
“They were determined to prove they can play at this level and earned their agreements. Both will be really good fits to our skilled, young core going forward.”
McNutt was drafted by the Cougars in the fifth round, 92nd overall, in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
The Red Deer blueliner played last season with the U-18 Red Deer Chiefs in the Alberta Elite Hockey League.
Shantz was drafted by the Cougars in the third round, 66th overall, in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
The forward registered four points (2g-2a) in three games for Northern Alberta Xtreme U-16 Prep in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.
The Cougars open their Pre-Season Schedule on Friday in Kamloops. PG will then host the Blazers on Saturday at CN Centre.
