More housing could be coming on Chief Lake Road

A new subdivision has been proposed for Chief Lake Road.

According to a report that will be delivered at tomorrow’s (Monday) Prince George City Council meeting, the Kidd Group is proposing to facilitate a bareland strata development offering a mix of housing forms.

The density of the homes would be 22 units per hectare.

To facilitate the development, located at 4922 Chief Lake Road, the area would have to be rezoned to RM1: Multiple Residential.

At tomorrow’s meeting, City Council will vote on giving the rezoning bylaw first and second reading, as well as to withhold the final reading until a number of requirements have been met.

The city has received a pair of letters opposing the project, stating the increase of traffic, and the loss of the ‘rural setting’ in the area as main reasons.

Other items on tomorrow’s agenda include appointments to Standing Committees, as well as Council Representative appointments to external organizations.
