WHL:

PG Cougars  6  Victoria Royals  5 (OT)

Who else but Chase Wheatcroft?

Wheatcroft scored a hat-trick, including the overtime winner, and added an assist.

The win clinched a playoff berth for the Cougars (28-23-4-), who continue to sit fifth in the WHL’s Western Conference.

They trail the Tri-City Americans (27-23-5-2) by one point, and lead the Everett Silvertips (28-24-2-1) by one point.

The Cougars will play their next four games at home, starting with the Vancouver Giants on Tuesday. (7:00 p.m.)

BCHL:

Penticton Vees  4  PG Spruce Kings  1

John Herrington was the lone goal scorer for the Spruce Kings.

The Spruce Kings (23-18-4-1) sit fifth in the BCHL’s Interior Division, trailing the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (24-16-4-1)  by two points.

PGA Tour: Honda Classic:

Chris Kirk (-13) is taking a two shot lead into the final day of the tournament.

Canadian Adam Svensson is tied for 16th at -5, while fellow Canadian Taylor Pendrith started his day at -3.
