WHL

Prince George Cougars: 3  vs  Kamloops Blazers: 2 (SO)

The Cougars are 8-0-2-1 in their last 11 games heading into the postseason, finishing the year 37-24-6-1

Despite being heavily outshot by a shorthanded Blazers team, the Cougars came out on top in the shootout thanks to Chase Wheatcroft, Koehn Ziemmer, and Tyler Brennan.

Playoffs start on Friday, when the Cougars will host the 34-26-5-3 Tri-City Americans.

BCHL

Cranbrook Bucks: 4  vs  Prince George Spruce Kings: 3 (OT)

One point was not enough for the Spruce Kings, who will finish fifth in the Interior Division standings.

They will face off against either Salmon Arm or West Kelowna in the first round of playoffs, depending on what happens in today’s game between Salmon Arm and Penticton.

Either way, the Kings will start playoffs on the road.

NHL

The Canucks keep fighting their way out of a good draft position, beating the Dallas Stars 3-1 last night, now tied for 24th with Detroit.

The playoff picture is taking shape more and more, the New Jersey Devils are the third team to clinch their spot in the postseason with a win over Ottawa.

And Will’s Washington Capitals have managed to all but eliminate themselves from playoffs after blowing a 3-goal third period comeback against the evil Penguins in the final 80 seconds. Typical.

NBA

The Raptors and Wizards play at 3:00, Toronto is still one game behind the Atlanta Hawks for 8th place in the East. Washington sit three games behind the Raptors.
