Regional District’s CAO retiring after 29 years with the District

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George’s Chief Administrative Officer, Jim Martin, is calling it a career.

Martin has informed the Regional District’s Board of Directors he will be retiring at the end of this year.

Martin has been with the district since 1994, when he joined the Environmental Services Department to support the newly created Regional Solid Waste Management Plan.

He stepped into the role of Chief Administrative Officer in 2007.

“Jim’s leadership and contributions have left an indelible mark on the Regional District,” said RDFFG Board Chair Lara Beckett.

“His dedication, vision, and unwavering commitment have guided this organization’s growth and change. He has navigated us through challenging times and been a calm steady presence in supporting the Board and staff at the Regional District. His leadership will be greatly missed, but the impact he’s made will resonate for years to come.”

The Board will begin the process of searching for a new CAO this fall.
