Fans watching from home on the YouTube feed missed the goal, as windstorms knocked out the internet at the CN Centre and disrupted the live feed with a little more than four minutes to go in the third period.
The goal ended a seven-game home losing streak for the Cougars, with their last win at the CN Centre coming against the Brandon Wheat Kings on October 2.
To get to overtime, both teams were faced with hot goaltenders. Cougars netminder Kason Kobelka turned aside 27 shots for his second win as a Cougar, while Harrison Boettiger turned aside 27 for the Rockets as well.
After a first period that saw plenty of chances for the Cougars but no goals, Kash Andresen opened the scoring early in the second with his first as a Cougar, firing a wrist shot past Boettiger.
Kashing in! Andresen’s first as a Cougar has us in the lead!

With the Cougars holding a 1-0 lead early in the third, Tre Peck was given a golden opportunity to extend the lead. Cougars defenceman Kolten Bridgeman sprung Peck on a short breakaway, but Peck was hooked on the play and awarded a penalty shot.
Peck attempted a Peter Forsberg-esque move, but Boettiger extended his pad to slam the door on the Cougars’ leading goal scorer and keep it a 1-0 game.
The Cougars saw their slim lead evaporate with 5:53 to go in the third. Dawson Gerwing found the puck behind the Cougars net and found Jacob Henderson, who beat Kobelka with a one-time shot from the outside.
JACOB HENDERSON!!! TIES THE GAME LATE IN THE THIRD PERIOD!!! 😳
