Vikes power past sloppy Timberwolves

A turnover-filled effort blew up what had the potential to be a solid road effort for the UNBC Timberwolves men’s basketball team.

Cam Slaymaker’s 22-point effort helped lead the Victoria Vikes to a commanding 92-67 win over the T-Wolves.

Victoria pulled away and never looked back with a dominating second quarter outscoring UNBC 27-14.

Ryan Gallagher also had a solid out for the Vikes off the bench tallying 18 points, which include 7-for-16 shooting.

Justin Sunga recorded 13 points in defeat for the Timberwolves. Evgeny Baukin had an off-night with just seven points in 31 minutes off action.

Victoria improves to 2-1 on the season while the Timberwolves drop to 0-3.

The rematch is set for tonight at 7pm.
