The number of home sales in Prince George went down in May, but it’s nothing to worry about.
Cameron Muir with the BC Real Estate Association says, “While they’re down off a few percent, there’s really no signal on the demand side that things are changing significantly. Even when we look at the pricing side, we see prices continuing to edge up, and market conditions in Prince George appear to be well in balanced territory.”
Muir says the price of a house in Prince George went from 180 thousand dollars in May last year to 212 thousand dollars this May.
To date this year, sales in the area are down 4 percent, but Muir says coming off a very strong year in 2013 – the drop is not a huge surprise.
