The Salmon Arm Silverbacks scored the final four goals in the third period to beat the Prince George Spruce Kings 8-5. The BCHL exhibition game was played in 100 Mile House. The Spruce Kings, with an 0-2 exhibition record, play their final two pre-season games against the Vipers; Friday in Vernon and Saturday at the PG Coliseum.

–26-year-old First baseman/pitcher Amanda Asay of Prince George helped the Canadian Women’s National Baseball Team to a 4th place finish at the 2014 World Cup in Japan. Canada lost the bronze medal game in the 8-team tournament 3-2 to Australia. It is just the second time over six World Cup women’s baseball competitions, Canada has failed to earn a medal. Host Japan took gold defeating the United States 3-0 in the final.
