PG Minor Hockey rep teams earn three silver medals at Provincials

There is no three peat for the Prince George Midget Tier-One Cougars.

After winning the BC Hockey Provincial Championship in 2016 and 2017, Prince George took silver at this year’s tournament in Fort. St. John, dropping the BC final 4-2 to the Vancouver Thunderbirds.

The Midget Tier-One Cougars finished the seven-team round robin in first place with a 4-0-2 record:

  • 3-3 tie with Vancouver
  • 5-4 win over North-East
  • 4-3 win over East Kootenay
  • 4-2 win over Burnaby
  • 7-2 win over Kelowna
  • 4-4 tie against Saanich

Prince George Minor Hockey rep teams also earned silver at Midget Tier-Two in Quesnel and Bantam Tier-One in Nanaimo.

The PG Midget Tier-Two Cougars lost the final 4-2 to host Quesnel after both teams tied for first in the seven-team round robin with a record of 4-1-1.

PG round robin results:

  • 7-4 loss to Cowichan
  • 6-1 win over Coquitlam
  • 2-2 tie with Quesnel
  • 5-3 win over Port Moody
  • 10-1 win over Fort St. John
  • 5-3 win over Kamloops

The PG Bantam Tier-One Cougars fell 3-0 to Seafair in the gold medal game; PG went 2-1-1 in the round robin of the eight-team tournament:

  • 1-1 tie with Victoria
  • 3-1 win over Yukon
  • 4-1 loss to Seafair
  • 6-0 win over Nanaimo
