Golden Knights win 4-1 to advance to the Stanley Cup Final against Tampa Bay or Washington.

The Lightning lead the East Final 3-2 over the Capitals with game six tonight (5PM) in Washington.

 

WORLD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP: (Medal games in Denmark)

Sweden  3  Switzerland  2  (Shootout)

Sweden won gold and Switzerland the silver.

USA  4  Canada  1

Americans won bronze and Canada finished up 4th.

Acadie-Bathurst leads the standings at 2-0 followed by Regina at 1-1.

Swift Current plays Hamilton tonight (5PM). Both teams are 0-1.

ROYAL BANK CUP JUNIOR HOCKEY: (Championship game in Chilliwack)

Chilliwack Chiefs  4  Wellington Dukes  2

Defenceman Bryan Allbee of Prince George had one assist for the Chiefs who won the RBC.

Chilliwack is the 14th BCHL team to win the national championship, but the first to do it as host.

The Chiefs are the second consecutive host team and third in the last four years to win Canada’s National Junior A Championship.

JUDO:

The Hart Judo Academy and PG Judo Club combined for seven medals (one gold, one silver and five bronze) at
the national judo championships in Calgary.

Kimiko Kamstra (Hart) won a gold and a silver.

Maxwell Young (Hart) earned a pair of bronze.

Other bronze went to Brooke Corbett (Hart), Sydney Edgson (PG) and Tami Goto (PG).

 

BALL HOCKEY:

The Prince George Knights placed second in the C Division of the Interior Cup men’s ball hockey tournament in Penticton.

The Knights went 2-1 in the round robin (2-1 over Surrey Vipers, 3-2 over the Langley Jokers and 3-2 loss to Calgary Hooligans) before winning the semi-final (3-2 over Calgary Hooligans in overtime) and losing the final (2-1 to the Langley Jokers in OT).

 

NBA:

Golden State Warriors  126  Houston Rockets  85

Warriors lead the Western Conference Final 2-1 with game four Tuesday (6PM) in Oakland.

In the East, Boston plays at Cleveland tonight (5:30PM) with the Celtics ahead of the Cavaliers 2-1.

 

MLB:

Oakland A’s  9   Toronto Blue Jays  2

A’s swept the four-game series.

The 22-25 Blue Jays host the LA Angels Tuesday.

 

PRINCE GEORGE SENIOR LACROSSE:

The next game in PG Senior Lacrosse will be played Wednesday at 8PM at Kin 1 featuring the Westwood Pub Devils against the RPR Mechanical/J.R. Construction Bandits.

Both teams are 4-2 and tied for second and have split their first two meetings.
