PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS:

Prince George Spruce Kings  3  Wenatchee Wild  2

The Spruce Kings improved their perfect home record to 5-0 and their overall record to 7-2-0-1.

Dustin Manz scored once and set up the winner by Liam Watson-Brawn.

Nolan Welsch put PG on the board as the Spruce Kings scored all three of their goals in the second period before 912 fans at the RMCA.

Prince George moved into first place in the Mainland Division, a point ahead of Chilliwack and Coquitlam.

The Spruce Kings host the 6-3 Victoria Grizzlies tonight.

 

PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS:

The 2-2-0-1 Prince George Cougars play at the CN Centre for the second straight weekend as they conclude a four-game homestand.

The Cougars host the 4-1 Vancouver Giants tonight and Saturday.

 

CARIBOO COUGARS:

(BCMML)

The 2-0-2 Cariboo Cougars play a couple of games this Thanksgiving weekend in Abbotsford.

The Major Midget Cougars battle the 2-0 Fraser Valley Thunderbirds Saturday night at 7:30 and Monday morning at 8:15.

 

NHL: (Two Canadian teams in action Thursday)

Former Prince George Cougars captain Dennis Cholowski scored in his first NHL game for the Detroit Red Wings in a 3-2 overtime loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Brett Connolly of Prince George notched an assist for the Washington Capitals in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The 1-0 Vancouver Canucks visit the Calgary Flames Saturday night.

There are just two Friday night games in the NHL; Carolina at Columbus and San Jose at LA.

 

UNBC TIMBERWOLVES:

(Canada West Women’s Soccer)

The 1-4-3 UNBC Lady Timberwolves host the 5-2-1 MacEwan Griffins tonight and Saturday night at 6 at Masich Place Stadium.

The Lady Timberwolves are seventh out of eight in the Canada West soccer Pacific Division.

The top six teams advance to the playoffs.

The 4-2-3 UNBC men’s soccer team visit the 2-6-2 Thompson Rivers Wolfpack Saturday and Sunday afternoon at 1 in Kamloops.

The UNBC men are fourth out of seven in the Pacific Division.

The Dodgers and Brewers lead the best-of-five National League Division Series 1-0.

The best-of-five American League Division Series open today; The Cleveland Indians play at the Houston Astros (11:05 a.m. PT) and the NY Yankees visit the Boston Red Sox (4:30 p.m).

 

NFL:
