Following the sudden death of a student earlier this week, College Heights Secondary School is offering support services to their students.
In a letter to parents on October 5th, Principal Randy Halpape said the school was deeply saddened by the loss, and that they were doing everything they can to support students through the difficult experience.
According to Halpape, the school will remain open, school district and support staff will be available for students and staff throughout next week as needed.
He asked that the school and community respect the privacy of the family and refrain from contacting them or posting and commenting on social media.
Tim Bennett, SD57 Board Chair, tweeted a schedule of counsellors set up at John McInnis Learning Centre this weekend for those needing to talk to someone, saying “we are all here for you.”
