PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS:

Prince George Spruce Kings  8  Langley Rivermen  1

Dustin Manz notched a hat trick and added two assists.

The 15-6-0-1 Spruce Kings exploded with four goals in each of the last two periods before 1,137 fans.

The same two teams play again tonight at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA).

Prince George is tied with the Coquitlam Express for second in the Mainland Division, three points behind the Chilliwack Chiefs.

 

PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS:

(WHL)

The 7-7-1-2 Prince George Cougars visit the (12-3-2) Vancouver Giants tonight and Sunday afternoon in Langley.

The Giants lead the BC Division and Western Conference standings.

The Cougars are third in the BC Division, a point ahead of Kelowna and three in front of Kamloops.

On Friday, the Rockets won their fourth straight, 3-1 over Seattle and the Blazers lost 6-1 to Everett.

 

CARIBOO COUGARS:

The 7-3-2 Cariboo Cougars, winners of their last five, play the (10-4) Okanagan Rockets tonight at 5 and Sunday morning at 10 in Kelowna.

The Major Midget Cougars are in fourth place in the BCMML, four points out of first.

The 10-6-1 Vancouver Canucks play today in Buffalo (10 a.m. PT) against the (8-6-2) Sabres.

The Canucks also visit NY Rangers Monday, NY Islanders Tuesday, and Minnesota Thursday on their six-game road trip.

 

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL:

The PGSS Polars host the South Kamloops Titans this afternoon at 4 in the first round of provincial BCSSFA Double-A Varsity playoffs at Masich Place Stadium.

In other games today at Masich, Kelly Road Double-A Varsity will play the G.W. Graham Grizzlies at 11 this morning and College Heights Junior Varsity will tackle the South Kamloops Titans this afternoon at 1:30.

CFL:

The BC Lions need two wins to become the first cross over team to reach the Grey Cup.

The Lions visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Sunday (10 a.m. PT) in the East semi-final with the winner to advance to play at the Ottawa RedBlacks on November 18th.

The West semi Sunday afternoon (1:30) has the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The winner will travel to Calgary to meet the Stampeders.

There are a dozen Sunday games in the NFL including Seattle at LA Rams, New Orleans at Cincinnati, New England at Tennessee and the night match-up of Dallas at Philadelphia.

The Saints have lost wide receiver Dez Bryant for the rest of the season.

Bryant tore his Achilles tendon at the end of his second day of practice with New Orleans.

 

UNBC TIMBERWOLVES:

The UNBC Timberwolves have the bye this weekend in Canada West basketball.

The Timberwolves return to action Friday and Saturday (Nov. 16th-17th) at the Northern Sport Centre against the Trinity Western University (TWU) Spartans.

The UNBC women are 4-0 while the men sit 3-1.

 

NBA:

The 11-1 Toronto Raptors host the (4-8) New York Knicks today at noon (PT).

The Raptors have the best record in the NBA.
