The (15-15) Prince George Cougars host their annual Teddy Bear toss game tonight when they welcome the (7-21-2-1) Saskatoon Blades to CN Centre. The Cougars are 3rd in the B.C. Division while the Blades sit 13 points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Former Cougar Alex Forsberg leads the Blades in scoring with 23 points in 27 games.

–The P.G. Cougars reduced their roster to 24 (15 forwards, seven defencemen and two goalies) by sending 18-year-old forward Jordan Ross to the Yorkton Terriers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Ross played last season with Yorkton when they won the Royal Bank Cup.

–The (17-12-0-2) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (16-12-0-2) Merritt Centennials Friday and the (9-20-0-1) Cowichan Valley Capitals Saturday in their final home games in 2014.

–The Major Midget leading Cariboo Cougars entertain the North Island Silvertips Saturday at 4:45 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. at Kin 1.

–A couple of Prince George Ringette rep teams competed at the Michelle Vandale Ringette Tournament in the Fraser Valley. P.G. finished with a win, two losses and a tie in the U16A Division and 0-4 in U19B.

–Four archers, including Tony Proctor and Mya Schouwenburg of Prince George, have been chosen to compete for Team BC in archery at the 2015 Canada Winter Games. The Winter Games Archery competition will be held Feb 13 to 20 at the Northern Sport Centre.
