A new goalkeeper will be joining the UNBC Timberwolves for the 2019 Canada West men’s soccer season.
Grande Prairie native Alex Dorscheid has committed to the T-Wolves program.
The 17-year-old is currently living in Victoria, where he trains with the Pacific Soccer Institute.
“I think the biggest difference is going to be the speed and physicality of play. I am just getting used to things coming faster and harder.”
The six-foot Dorscheid isn’t shy about giving a scouting report on himself.
“I’m quick off my backline, stopping things before they develop. I am a good shot-stopper, and a vocal keeper, as well. I like to talk from the back, and organize my team well,” said Dorscheid in a team news release.
He plans to begin his studies in pursuit of a Bachelor of Commerce in the fall.
