IIHF U18 World Hockey Championship: (in Switzerland)
Canada whipped Switzerland 7-3 today (Thursday) in the quarterfinals.
Riley Heidt of the Prince George Cougars picked up one assist for the Canadian team that has advanced to the semifinals on Saturday.

There are three Stanley Cup playoff games tonight (Thursday): Tampa Bay at Toronto (4:00 PT), Winnipeg at Vegas (7:00) and New York Rangers at New Jersey (4:30 ). The Maple Leafs lead the Lightning 3-1, the Golden Knights are ahead of the Jets 3-1 and the Rangers and Devils are tied 2-2.

The WHL Conference Finals open this weekend.
In the East, the Winnipeg Ice will host the Saskatoon Blades on Friday and Saturday.
In the West, the Seattle Thunderbirds entertain the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday and Sunday.
Both the Thunderbirds and the Blazers are 8-0 and have been idle since last week.
