Prince George’s Operation Red Nose will begin it’s 18th year next week.
They officially launched their campaign today (Mon) and Chair Neil Godbout says volunteers are still needed.
“We are at 110 volunteers but we need double that and probably triple for the amount of teams required for New Year’s Eve.”
He says the service has proven to be effective over the years.
“Last year we gave our 10,000 ride and I’m confident people have gotten home safe over the holiday season because of the rides we provided.
Anyone 19 years of age or older can fill out an application on-line at www.ornpg.ca.
Last year, 1,123 safe rides home were provided in Prince George which ranked 2nd out of 13 BC communities.
Operation Red Nose will be in service every Friday and Saturday from November 27th to December 19th and New Year’s Eve.
