Local fire crews extinguish pair of structure fires 13 hours apart

A pair of blazes are under investigation by Prince George firefighters.

Just after 6am today (Thursday), they were on the scene of a possible structure fire at the 45-hundred block of Zilke Road.

On arrival, crews found a two-story residence with smoke coming from the basement and main floors.

The fire was later extinguished but did sustain $60,000 worth of damage.

Last night (Wednesday), local fire crews responded to a rooftop blaze on the 1800 block of 3rd Avenue.

Damage is estimated at $2000.

In both files, no injuries were reported to fire personnel or residents.
