Six-year school completion rate seeing steady trend

Just how well students in School District 57 are doing became a lot more clear last night.
District Superintendent Brian Pepper made his annual report on student success to the district’s board last night.
He says when it comes to six-year completion rates, there is a steady decrease.
Last school year the overall completion rate was 72.3 percent, while in 2013 it was 74.9 percent.
“Yes we have some areas that we need to focus on,” says Pepper, “but our staffs, our programs have all been designed to encourage what you’re seeing overtime and that’s that slow and steady progress upward trend overtime with six-year completion rate.”
Pepper also notes that completion rates for the non-Aboriginal population has levelled out at 81 percent.
