Prince George temperature running 1.3 degrees above average: Environment Canada

The mild trend we’ve been seeing in terms of the weather will stick around Prince George as we head towards the end of February.

The weekend weather forecast for our area will see temperatures bounce between the freezing mark and plus four.

Meteorologist, Doug Lundquist explained to MyPGNow.com why we haven’t seen another cold spell since that January deep freeze.

“We haven’t had a lot of flow coming out of the arctic, Northwest Territories or the Yukon. We did have that cold spell in January but for the most part, the rest of the winter has been near or above average. So right now, over the last 90 days, we’ve been running about 1.3 degrees above average even including that cold spell.”

He adds Saturday should be the calmest day of the weekend.

“For Saturday, it will be sunny with some cloudy periods and a high of about one and a low of about minus ten that night under clear skies.”

Lundquist adds Prince George could see some snow on Sunday with a high of zero.
