The Prince George Kodiaks 16U Boys earned silver in Division 2, Tier 1 at the Volleyball Canada Club Championships in Calgary.

The Kodiaks lost the final 2-0 to Niagara Rapids of Ontario.

The PG team compiled an overall 5-1 record in Pool Play and a 2-1 mark in the playoffs with both losses coming against Niagara.

A total of nine Prince George club volleyball teams competed in Calgary over a six day period.

The only other PG team that earned a medal was the Kodiaks 15U Girls that took gold in Division 3, Tier 4.

–The BX Pub Bandits blasted the Northland/Nissan Assault 13-4 in Prince George Senior Lacrosse. Drew Doig sparked the 5-1 Bandits with five goals and three assists. The Assault fall to 1-5.

–The Westwood Pub Devils put their perfect 5-0 record on the line in PG Senior Lacrosse when they play the 3-2 Quesnel Crossfire this evening (Thursday) at 8 at Kin 1.

–The Vancouver Canucks will hold their training camp in Prince George for the first time. The Canucks camp takes place at CN Centre September 18-20.

–The WHL champion Kelowna Rockets open the Memorial Cup Friday against the host Quebec Remparts. The Rockets also face Rimouski on Monday and Oshawa on Tuesday in round robin play.

–The Stock Car racing season begins Saturday night at PGARA. Qualifying starts at 6 with racing at 7.

The Hornets, Minis and Streets will be on the track as well as the Super Trucks.
